As a freelancer who charges by the hour, what are the best time tracking web applications that you have found to work for your business? I would love to hear some success stories.
Thanks!

Permalink Reply by Chris Bailey on August 10, 2012 at 11:24am We've been using Paymo for a few months. It has a timer to track how long you're currently working on a project. And that time can easily be sent to an invoice. Plus, I personally like their mobile app and use it often.
I used to be the marketing director for an enterprise-level time tracking solution called Journyx. It's overkill for most freelancers and small business. But what I did learn is that there are many options to choose from, most having the same core features. It really depends on which pricing model you want and who has the better UI.
Good luck!

Permalink Reply by CrunchSum on August 10, 2012 at 8:42pm Thanks so much for your response. I am currently using Paymo and it seems to be getting the job done. Not sure if I love it yet, but am interested in learning about what else is out there. Thanks for the tip on Journyx. I'll check them out.

Permalink Reply by Jim Rodriguez on August 28, 2012 at 11:45pm We have been using Time Doctor for almost a year now and intend to use it further. Great time tracking application and features especially if you are monitoring a team or managing a company. It really helps you monitor your employees if they are working on their assigned tasks or just browsing non-related sites. We actually started using it to monitor our remote workers who often browse Facebook and Youtube while they are at work. At first, we were just exchanging emails and Skype conversations but those were not enough to rate their work but after we enforced using Time Doctor it gradually boost their performance and productivity.
Permalink Reply by CrunchSum on September 28, 2012 at 2:36pm Hello all! I thought it would be helpful to share with you a blog post review that I wrote on using Toggl. If you have any interest you can check it out here. Thanks!
I'm also a Freshbooks user. There is a free version that my contractors use, it's very easy to set up and you can also invoice/track expenses etc from the same account. Nice to have an iPhone app so I can look up how long a job has taken if needed when out and about.
