I firmly believe that we are all capable of accomplishing our goals, but only if we're willing to put in the blood, sweat and tears it takes to achieve them. Yet, so many people make excuses. It's like they want to skip over the hard part (the actual work), and just magically become successful. I'm sorry, but it doesn't work that way. You have to hustle, work hard, and sweat it out in order to get what you want. For most of us, very little will happen until we're ready for that kind of commitment.
Don't get me wrong -- I don't lack empathy for the stressed, overworked and overwhelmed entrepreneur. Actually, it's the opposite. I have been there. But I also know that unless you have a clear idea of your goals and priorities, and are completely dedicated to getting the results you want (even if it takes a long time and requires that you make sacrifices), you are doomed to fail. Harsh? No, I don't think so; it's realistic.
Think about it for a minute. How many times do you think of a dream or a goal, and quickly push it down to the bottom of your list, thinking you'll tackle it next week, next month, next year? But that time never comes...
Are you waiting until everything is absolutely perfect to take the next step on a big goal? Maybe a sentiment like this sounds familiar: "If only I had more money, more time, more help, etc. I would be able to achieve my goal and my life would be so much better."
The fact is, you have the power right now to start working on turning your dreams into reality. And it is entirely up to you...
If this challenge sounds familiar to you, then you need to read one of my recent posts on the Small Business Bonfire blog. Then, come back here and enlist the support of your fellow entrepreneurs to break out of your complacency and start acting.
